Thanks for growing your business with Prepear! This document will familiarize you with the rules and terms that allow you to earn money with Prepear while helping your readers have the best cooking experience out there. This document is subject to the terms in the Prepear Professional (Pro) Agreement and Prepear Privacy Policy, so be sure to check those out too.
As a Prepear Pro, you create and offer digital cookbooks, meal plans, and recipes in Prepear to help people succeed in their home cooking goals while getting paid for your content! If you have great recipes, a knack for meal planning, and/or a passion for home cooking, you can apply to become a Prepear Pro. Once accepted, you can begin sharing your content with your followers–and earning a commission–right away.
Earning an Income from Your Content on Prepear
There are three main ways you can earn an income on Prepear. These are listed below in order of earning potential:
- Selling subscriptions to your content on Prepear
- Selling digital cookbooks and meal plans on Prepear
- Adding your content to Prepear and passively earning an RPI (revenue per thousand interactions) each time your full recipe is viewed on Prepear
The rules for earning an income from each of these methods is explained in detail below.
Earning an Income from Subscriptions on Prepear
There are two types of subscriptions you can sell on Prepear.
- “Full Access” subscriptions provide a user unlimited access to just YOUR content on Prepear including all your recipes, cookbooks, and meal plans.
- “Prepear Gold” subscriptions provide a user unlimited access to ALL Prepear Pros’ recipes, cookbooks, and meal plans on Prepear with a single subscription.
Selling a subscription to your content on Prepear is the most effective way to monetize your content. In fact, the top earning Prepear Pros earn more than 95% of their income on Prepear from the sale of subscriptions!
Earning an Income from Full Access Subscriptions
When you sell a subscription to a single Prepear Pro’s content on Prepear it is called a “Full Access” subscription. For instance, if a blog is called Cathy’s Cupcakes, a Full Access subscription would be called “Cathy’s Cupcakes Full Access Subscription.”
For each Full Access subscription sold you receive a commission based on two variables:
1) Full Access Subscription Owner (50%)
You earn a 50% commission when your Full Access Subscription is sold. You will continue to earn this commission on each billing for the duration of the Full Access Subscription.
2) Full Access Subscription Referral (30%)
You earn a 30% referral commission when you send a new visitor to a Prepear sales page from your site using your referral tracking code, and that visitor makes a purchase immediately from your sales page, OR within 90 days. You will continue to earn this commission on each billing for the duration of the Full Access Subscription.
By combining these commission types you earn a commission of 80% during the entire life of the Full Access Subscription.
Earning an Income from Prepear Gold Subscriptions
When you sell a subscription to ALL Prepear Pro content it is called a “Prepear Gold” subscription. Prepear users may choose to purchase an upgrade from a Full Access Subscription to Prepear Gold either at the time of purchase, or at any point throughout the term of their subscription to gain access to all of the content on Prepear from every Prepear Pro.
Commissions on Prepear Gold Upgrades
When a Full Access subscriber upgrades to Prepear Gold, you continue to earn the same commission you earn for the sale of the Full Access Subscription, and then also earn a variable RPI (currently $100 per thousand recipe interactions) each time one of your original recipes is used on Prepear throughout the term of the subscription (subject to some limitations). You will continue to earn commissions on Prepear Gold upgrades for the duration of the subscriber’s Prepear Gold subscription.
Commissions on Prepear Gold Direct Sales
If you do not have enough content to create a Full Access subscription, you may choose to sell Prepear Gold subscriptions directly. Prepear Gold is also offered as an upgrade option on the sales pages for individual cookbooks and meal plans.
If a subscription to Prepear Gold is sold in either of these ways you earn a referral commission of 30% of the price of the Prepear Gold subscription, and are also eligible to earn a variable RPI (currently $100 / 1000 interactions) each time one of your original recipes is used by that subscriber throughout the term of their subscription (subject to some limitations). You will continue to earn commissions on Prepear Gold direct sales for the duration of the subscriber’s Prepear Gold subscription.
Earning an Income from Selling Meal Plans & Cookbooks on Prepear
As a Prepear Pro you can create an unlimited number of cookbooks and meal plans on Prepear. This content, along with your recipe content on Prepear is all included with a Full Access Subscription to your content. The creation and pricing of multiple cookbooks and meal plans helps your readers understand the true value of your Full Access Subscription. As an example if you create 10 different cookbooks that cost $20 each, and 5 meal plans that cost $20 each, the total value of $300 worth of your digital products are available to your Full Access Subscribers for only $99.99 per year.
Although the earning potential of subscriptions on Prepear is much higher than single purchases, there are times when it makes sense to sell just a single cookbook or meal plan instead of a subscription.
Pro Recipe Contributor Commissions
You earn a commission as a Pro Recipe Contributor when your recipes are included in a cookbook or meal plan on Prepear. The total commission available is 50% and is based on your share of the recipes included in the cookbook or meal plan. For example, if you create a collaborative cookbook with another Prepear Pro and use 20 of your recipes, and 20 recipes from another Prepear Pro you will earn ½ of the total 50% commission available to Pro Recipe Contributors.
Referral Commissions
You earn a 30% referral commission when you send a new visitor to a Prepear sales page from your site using your referral tracking code, and that visitor makes a purchase of a cookbook or meal plan immediately from your sales page, OR within 90 days.
By combining both of the above commission types you earn a commission of 80% on each digital cookbook or meal plan sale.
Earning an Income Passively from Recipe Usage on Prepear
We know how hard you have worked to create the recipe content on your site. Respecting your copyright and ensuring you receive compensation for your recipes is our top priority.
Recipe Interactions by Prepear Free Users
Prepear Free users can view your recipe image and ingredients when browsing recipes on Prepear but cannot view the directions. Prepear Free users are prompted to visit your website to view the full recipe including directions. This allows your readers to save your recipes to their Prepear Free account and keeps them coming back to your site again and again. You earn an income from these readers based on your own advertisements or marketing on your site.
Prepear Free users can use a small number of full recipes (including the directions) each week on the Prepear platform. This gives them a chance to see what Prepear Gold is like and incentivizes them to upgrade to a paid subscription. We pay you a variable RPI (currently $100 / thousand interactions) for each of these recipe interactions.
Recipe Interactions by Prepear Gold Subscribers
Prepear Gold subscribers can view all your recipe content including directions inside of Prepear. We pay you a variable RPI (currently $100 / thousand interactions) for each of these recipe interactions (subject to certain limitations).
What Qualifies as a Recipe Interaction?
A recipe interaction is tracked each time one of the following events occurs:
- A Prepear Free user opens your recipe in “Cook Mode”
- A Prepear Gold subscriber opens the recipe card which displays your full recipe including photo, ingredients, and directions
- A Prepear Gold subscriber uses your recipe in “Cook Mode”
- Your recipe is included in a Prepear Gold subscriber’s meal planner
Limitations on Recipe Interaction Payouts
The total payout to Prepear Pros for Prepear Gold users is limited to 80% of the amount paid for the subscription. For example, if a user pays $100 for her Prepear Gold subscription, we will stop paying out an RPI for that user once the total amount of commissions and RPI paid to Prepear Pros hits $80. The payment of RPIs will begin again on the subscriber’s next billing date.
Referral Tracking Questions
What if a purchaser or new subscriber has had multiple Referrers?
If multiple Referrers send the same new visitor (within 30 days) or the same existing free user to any Prepear sales page (within 90 days), the ability to claim a Referrer commission belongs to the most recent Referrer.
What if I send a new visitor to Prepear, but she does not make a purchase or sign up for a free account right away?
When a new visitor signs up for a free account within 30 days of using your link, you earn the referral commission on her future purchases that happen within 90 days of beginning the free account.
What if I refer someone to Prepear who already has a free account?
You may still earn a referral commission on a visitor who already has a free account with Prepear. You earn this commission when the free user makes a purchase or upgrades to a Gold subscription directly from a referral by you to a sales page on Prepear using your referral attribution links.
Prepear Earnings Payout Policy
We calculate the payout for Prepear Pros every night at midnight. You can track your earnings each day by logging in to your Prepear Pro account and viewing your dashboard. Prepear Pros receive payouts once a month. Pay periods begin on the first of the calendar month, and end on the last day of the calendar month.
You can expect your payout to arrive approximately 31 – 45 days after the end of the calendar month in which a purchase was made on Prepear or a daily RPI calculation was made by Prepear for which you are owed a commission. Why 31 – 45 days? Prepear offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. We delay commission payouts for 31 days so that refunded subscriptions can be removed from our calculations. The remaining days allow us time to process the transactions and send payment to your bank.
Commissions are not paid on any purchase that is cancelled during our 30-day refund period. Commissions are not paid during new user’s trial periods of Prepear Gold which may range from 7 to 30 days based on various promotions that we may run.
Commissions may be paid at a reduced amount at Prepear’s discretion for promotional offerings for which a user may receive access to your recipes, cookbooks, or meal plans as a trial of the product. For example, you or we may offer a new user a discount for their first cookbook, meal plan, or Prepear Gold subscription, and those discounts may reduce your commission.
If you or we terminate your Prepear Professional status or access to Prepear, then you will not receive commissions after the date of termination. We reserve the right to terminate your Prepear Professional Status or your access to Prepear if we determine that the Prepear Professional Agreement or the Prepear Terms of Use have been violated. Your final payment will be sent after the end of the calendar month in which the termination occurs.
